Another lo of Gracie. Sorry, I hope you aren't getting tired of her! The pics aren't that great, but this is more about describing the situation. Last year was the first year we actually put something in Gracie's stocking, because we wanted to see what she would do. Don't get me wrong...she always got a present, but we just didn't put it in her sock. This year, we were decorating the house and we hung the socks. Not long after, it "clicked" with Gracie and she was over at her sock whining, fussing, crying, and carrying on. I tried to "redirect" her with her favorite inside, furry football, but that didn't work! She was right back over there. I finally had to take ALL the socks down and she was fine, but kept watching the area. On Christmas Eve, we turned the lights out and I kept her occupied while my dh snuck out and hung the socks. The house was completely dark and not 2 minutes went by before we heard Gracie whining and crying. I got out of bed and went out to find her under her sock!!! I've heard announcers on dog shows refer to Beardies as "the clowns of the dog world" and she certainly fits the description! LOL In the after pic, she is acting all goofy and holding her paw up and sticking her tongue out!!!

This lo was a blast to do, but it was not without its problems. Cut the trees on my Cricut and used my Sew Easy to "zig zag" the stitching on the big tree. When I started to sew it, it wasn't turning into a zig zag at all. I just decided to pretend it looks like those paper chains we made back in grade school and that works great for my grade school chic style! LOL Wanted to machine stitch around the border, but the tension on my machine was not working right. So, I used my machine with just the needle and then hand-stitched it. Inked the cotton "fur" on the sock and, of course, Gracie had to have her signature paw prints decorating the Christmas balls and her pics. The word "joy" is not because Gracie was completely happy, but because she brings such joy into our lives!

Journaling reads:
Twas weeks before Christmas
and what did I see
but an empty old sock
hanging there for me.

I've been a good girl
I know that is true
but Santa, dear Santa
what's happened to you?

I cried and I cried
but to no avail
and, honestly, I lost
all the wag in my tail.

Well I'm happy again
as you can well see
cause my understanding mom
solved the problem for me!

Thanks so much for taking your time to stop by to check out Gracie's latest antic! :o) Your visits always make me smile!
