Trent's first 5K from this past summer. Included his rcaing number and the safety pins. I will include in the page protector the official race results as well.
Journaling is:
Your first race ever, a 5K, you ran during the summer of 2012. The race was held during Muskie Days in Nevis, MN and we were up there for the annual Neutgens cabin party. Wayne and Samantha Killmer ran the race as well. You were excited, and a little nervous, as there were over 100 people registered for the race and it was pretty crowded at the starting line. The race was on the Heartland Trail and it was nice and flat, a great certified course for your first race. Dad and I really didn’t know what to expect, but we just told you to do your best. Dad had moved further down the race trail and I stayed at the finish line, camera at the ready of course. Runners started coming in, and we kept watching for you. All at once, there you were –and you were running hard! Then you saw dad and thinking he was at the finish line, you slowed down and stopped by him-and we all started yelling for you to keep coming down the trail. The clock person started waving her hand and you kicked it back into gear and crossed the finished line! You ran a 28:39 5K. You were the 6th boy to finish in your category (10-19 years and the first 11 year old to finish! Needless to say, we were really proud of you and your accomplishment. Nice racing Trent!
