Great use of colors and wow... what a powerful layout! My suggestion (based on your feeling of "missing element in the middle") was to move the Hope embellishment to above the picture so that it overlayed the ribbon border on the right side a little and framed the top of the picture also... which is basically identical to Melissa's suggestion so maybe there's something to it? I also agree with the person who said the trapped white space is really the problem- a little rearranging and it will be free to roam off the edge of the page!
Thanks for sharing such a powerful tribute!
Hi there! I think MelissaW had some good suggestions. I think another thing that may be making it feel unfinished in the "trapped white space" in between your journaling and the words on the right (joy, hugs, etc.). It makes it seem like something's missing when it really may not be. A little rearranging could fix that pretty easily.
The meaning behind this LO is very powerful! Plus, I think you tied in the reddish color on the shirts to the paper strips very nicely!! It's a perfect match!
Wow!! It's very nice!! I do see what you mean about missing "something". It needs a little something top right and bottom left. though i'm really not sure what. I'm sorry!! MelissaW seems to have some good ideas though!! I'm a fan of stitching!
I really love what you've got, but I can tell you what feels "off" about it. You have a large picture along then bottom, and then the HOPE embellishment. It makes the LO really bottom heavy, which is why it feels like the spot above the photo needs more weight.
I'd suggest moving the HOPE embellishment to just above the photo, to kind of frame it along the top. Then add stitching or fake stitching to the PP triangles (I think a zigzag would draw the eye across to the photo). Move the word confetti around the page in random spots. Try to make them draw a focal triangle between the photo and the journaling.
HTH!
