My parents surprise wedding reception. They were married in the parlor of their minister's home on a Friday evening. Only the minister, his wife, mom, dad, and their two witnesses were present. Their parents had planned a surprise reception for friends and family afterward back at their farm. My dad tells me his mom said to him, "Now son, you be sure to come home before you go off on your honeymoon so we can congratulate you." LOL momma says and it will be done even if you are an adult! The newspaper reports that mom wore "a powder blue gabardine suit with Navy accents and a corsage of American Beauty rosebuds." Their attendants or witnesses were my dad's cousin, Leroy and his new wife Betty, my mom's friend. They stood up for each other in their weddings.
Mom was working in a Beauty shop and had been for more than a year and dad was attending college.
The Ginger Blue Resort, no longer standing, was their honeymoon destination.
Last year was their 60th anniversary and my brother and his wife , me and my hubby, and my parents celebrated with an Alaskan inside passage cruise. Next month its 61 years.
Their marriage license is about 8 1/2 X 14 and colorful it has in large print, the words, Holy Matrimony so that is what I took the title from. I used "King James" font.
The MS punch is "rings" I always think of entwined wedding rings when I see it so that is why I used it here.
