I just adore this, but I pretty much loved everything you did this weekend (even if you briefly thought I may have hated something! LOL). The colors are fabulous and that Lime Rickey paper... superb for these photos!
What a fun layout! The girls really look like they are having a good time. I really love the colors you used in these last few layouts and all the circles and stitching. I always love all the pictures that you use!
These are the group portrait and dress rehearsal pics from one of Cassie's 9 dances in her 2011 recital -- one of three by her tap class. This dance was to S.I.M.P. {Squirrels in My Pants} from Phineas and Ferb.
I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots. I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp's and embellies that match the single portrait. I didn't have many pics from this one. Cassie was toward the back for the whole dance, so I had a hard time getting her. Her Adv/Int Tap class performed this one with the older girls in the Tap E class (don't ask me what 'E' stands for - I have no idea, but it's the class Cassie's in now LOL). The other class met on a different day of the week so they didn't have much time to practice together and it was a short dance, so there weren't any formation changes really. You can see the single portrait LO for this dance as well as my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery.
I doodled red stitching around the inside of the scalloped circle and red squiggles/dots around the border of the LO, and I doodled white dots around the black scallops. I also doodled double messy lines in black on all the oval/circle shapes. I used the colors from their shirts for the LO. I cut the title letters with my Cricut using the Stamped and Plantin Schoolbook carts and the scalloped circle and border using the Elegant Edges cart. The journaling includes the class level, teacher, day & time of the class, and the names of the girls in the dance. I wrote her teacher's dedication from the program around the inside of the scalloped circle with the accented last word below: "I truly hope you all have as much fun doing this as I did choreographing it! Watch out for those squirrels - they jump. Have fun, smile, laugh, and above all dance!"
