I love mixing collections up and throwing in different colors, too. On this layout I primarily used a mixture of Ready Set Go by Amy Tangerine and 5th & Frolic by Dear Lizzy. To add an extra pop of color I added in that red & white stripe by Echo Park. I love the unexpected pop it gives. I always seem to find a way to include red on my layouts.:)For the design of the layout I let the large chevron pattern of the 5th & Frolic paper serve as my guide. I cut out one of the large chevron stripes and then used it as a template to cut large chevrons out of the other papers. I machine stitched each down to add some texture. Then I had fun layering the photo with a few goodies. I didn't really leave room for journaling on the front so I took advantage of the neat design on the back left by the machine stitching and wrote my journaling there.
