I'm posting this for Ann's message board post, http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=3191131 [twopeasinabucket.com]

Dreamweavers Wisteria metal stencil
48 lb. Vellum
A lighter weight vellum from Stampin' Up! (last scan)

I don't know how well it shows up in the scans, but I think that the debossed images are sharper than the embossed images. Also, the second one of each pair is a cleaner image than the first. I'll stick to one embossing mat and shims in the future when embossing vellum.

1st pair–debossed
2nd pair–embossed

1st one of each pair–I used two embossing mats and no shims (pieces of cardstock).

2nd one of each pair–I used one embossing mat and 5 shims.

I added one more scan. I wanted to try a lighter weight vellum, and I had some from Stampin' Up. I don't know its weight, but it's much lighter than the 48-lb. vellum I originally used. The scan shows the debossed side. It embossed fine, but the paper wrinkled just a bit. Maybe I needed to use fewer shims with this weight.

I posted the sandwich and directions for protecting a metal stencil when machine embossing on Ann's thread. My information came from Lynell Harlow of Dreamweavers.
I also posted a video by Marti Wills.
