Yesterday, Nora showed me how she made the flowers on this card: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/967511/view/4634469/-1/144/0.html.
Essentially, she used the Distress Ink Wrinkle-Free Watercolor Technique, but instead of laying cardstock in the water-misted ink to make a background, she used it to stamp her image. I love the look she got.

I put four colors of distress ink on the craft sheet and misted them with water. The first time I used way too much water, and I couldn't stamp with it. I tried again (with Nora reminding me to stop misting), and it worked! I picked up the remaining ink with a piece of glossy cardstock and used that as a background mat on the card.

CARD:
4 1/4“ x 5 1/2”
Bazzill cardstock
Judikins Glossy White cardstock
140-lb. hot-press watercolor paper

Paper Inspirations Stamp–Watercolor Pressed Flowers

Distress Inks–Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters, Rusty Hinge, Scattered Straw

Nestabilities Die Cuts–Petite Ovals

Note: I've stamped with watered-down ink before, but before picking up the water/ink, I inked the stamp with Versamark. I think that's how we learned to do it in the Thinking Inking Video Tutorials. (Or was that when we stamped with bleach?) The Versamark helps hold onto the water/ink. However, the image is more controled, and I really like the way the image turns out when you don't use the Versamark. I like having both ways to do this.
