I've known my stepdaughter for almost five years. At 10 years old, she's starting to enter her "I know better than you" stage and it's driving us up the wall. After one really stupid moment of chopping off her Barbie's hair because she was mad at us, I decided to scrapbook the incident. Cover: Interactive file folder with Dymo labels and "case summary" on front with journaling: Lindsay Hegwald, 27, found the bodies of six young women stuffed precariously in a toy box in her daughter’s room. Hallie Hegwald, 10, confessed to her father, Kyle Hegwald, and her mother that she scalped the young women. Her parents reported that they had repeatedly asked her about the status of her Kansas ABC report. Ms. Hegwald reported that her class was doing the project at school and she would not have to work on it at home. Her parents found out the night before it was due that the class was not working on it and Ms.Hegwald was to complete the project on the night of January 23, 2004. In a fit of anger, against her parents, Ms. Hegwald scalped the heads of the six innocent women, collectively known as Barbie, resulting in their brutal deaths. The Forensic Examiner suggests that the women did not experience any pain. “All of the victims had bright smiles on their faces despite being scalped” Very little is known about the victims other than a few facts: 1) They aged very well…all were around 50 years old. 2) None of the victims had ever been married, but all had dated the same man, Ken (last name unknown). He has been cleared of any charges. 3) The victims lived in a “dream house” with baby sister Kelly. Ms. Hegwald is currently under house arrest until her trial. It is unknown if she’ll be tried as a juvenile or adult. Her parents and other family members were in shock. “No one ever suspected she would do such a thing. She’s had her share of problems, but she’s never been violent. We just didn’t think this kind of thing could happen in our own home,” cried her mother. Ms. Hegwald has shown no signs of remorse and laughs about the incident. Inside folder: features some of Hallie's favorite phrases at the moment, pictures of her "victims" and the "crime scene." Second page includes finger prints, note pad with her most infamous moments over the years, and the mug shot sequence.

Special thanks go to Hallie, for being a good sport. She really liked being able to help make the page!
