“Fonts are like a Graphic History of Life's Memories”, this kind of how I feel about fonts. I've been studying typography for many years, I suppose since the 60s when, like all the other little hippie artists, I made my own lettering for posters, flyers, and calendars. Then I studied graphic design in college and worked as an advertising illustrator & designer, working with type. I think of fonts as mirrors of their times, and knowing a little about different types & their history & use, helps me understand my own past, and history in general. For Erica's font challenge, these are some of my favorites, and I just wanted to try a little different approach. Each line of type is a different font from a different era, with a representative photo from my family.Aunt Bertha, Boston Black,Butterfield Demo, Black Oak STD, Mondo Redondo, Atlas Solid fonts. (background has too many fonts to even TRY to name!)
