I had my own LP's and player, most of the LP's I inherited from my grandmother. But even in the 1980's LP's were pretty common. Sadly my LP collection and player got destroyed in a house fire in January 2001. A couple of years ago, my DH caused me to begin to hate LP's. He got into collecting them and that was fine. Until he went and purchased 2 shed's full of them. I literally had to create pathways through my house because the only room that didn't have LP's in them was my boy's rooms. He eventually sold the massive hoard and I was happy. But I do sometimes miss the sound of an LP on a player.
There was nothing better than a stack of 45 records in their nice sleeves. We bought all of our favorite songs. My brother started collecting records when he was young. We sure loved our music. Our Grandmother sometimes would play her 78's.
