An update to the below.
It's been 8 years. Sissy's "mommy, (my niece) is now a 28 year old licensed/degreed Vet Tech. Roxie, the dog we got a year after Sissy went to Heaven is now 8 years old. She is such a GOOD girl. It boggles my mind that Roxie occasionally lays in the grass sunning herself right where Sissy was laid to rest. And every time a friend comes over with their dog, it goes immediately to the same spot. You canNOT tell me . . . .animals don't know.
It's how I grieve. This was my niece's 16 yr old dog. She had her for 13 years of her life. My niece turned 20 last Saturday and overnight she watched her beloved pet decline. The vet said it was congestive heart failure. We tried meds for a few days, but then my niece did the grown up thing and understood it was time to put that sweet puppy out of her misery. She is now buried in my backyard between two trees. When I look back there I believe she is the lucky one. This page might weigh half a pound! I covered it in brads, gems and pearls. Only the best for Sissy. And I do feel better.
