On the 2nd day of our trip to Quebec in 2010 my uncle and I stopped for the night in the small city of Rimouski. Around dusk I went for a walk and found this amazing monument in the Parc Beausejour. The sculpture commerates 'La Nuit Rouge" - the red night - a horrible fire that occurred on the night of May 6 1950 during which more than 1/2 of the city, including 319 homes, were destroyed. This sculpture, Les Batisseurs, the builders, shows the citizens working together to rebuild their town. Very powerful.
I used the BG Serenade Dowagers because the map on the pp is of the Gaspe peninsula where Rimouski is located, and the Kaisercraft Basecoat pp to echo the idea of building.
