I've been wanting to scrap these photos for quite some time, but there are so many and I'm not so good with two-page layouts or multiple photos. After pushing papers around for days, I finally decided that this photo was too important - and too fun - to get lost in a page with other photos. So I made it into its own page and I'm super happy I did!

This totally happened!!! I am obviously a Seattle Seahawks football fan (see avi) and DH and DS are by association. Well last February for Super Bowl 49, MY team made it to the big show, and it was in Phoenix, Arizona - 5 hours' drive from Los Angeles! The whole week leading up to SB49, DH and I kept saying "Wouldn't it be crazy if we just drove there for the day?" and "Well how often is your team in the Super Bowl within a day's drive of where you live?" When I heard there was a Seahawks fan event "12Fest in the Desert" at Chase Stadium (where the D-backs play), it was even harder to resist! We were still on the fence all the way up until Friday night and then we just decided - let's do it! We packed up snacks, drinks, every Seahawk item we owned, woke DS at 4:30 am and hit the road! We made it to Phoenix at 11:30 (12Fest was at 1), found parking downtown and got to enjoy the electric excitement of being a part of Super Bowl Central! We made it to Chase Stadium and there was a very long line to get in, but we still braved it (everone got in it turned out) and we got to enjoy all the hype around the Festival! It was amazing and truly a once-in-a-lifetime (though we certainly hope that's not our last SB appearance!) experience!

This photo is a selfie we took when we stopped for gas and bathrooms on the state line. I made several copies of it and both DH and I have it framed on our desks at work - and my parents have a framed copy that travels with them in their RV!

I've got plans to do more pages of the trip and our time in downtown Phoenix... eventually, but I'm glad I got this one done at least!

Now... if we'd have won the game, it would have been even MORE amazing... (I still have nightmares about that last play! UGH!)

This is for the Sports challenge (hehe duh). Non-participating obviously, but what's more sports themed than the Super Bowl?!?

TFL and for all your sweet comments!
