I made this as a present for my Aunt and Uncle for Christmas. The colors in their house are mostly blues, browns, and white (I decided to add a touch of purple). It's hard to see in the photos, but I positioned the cross that I made with floral wire slightly overlapping a mirror which has spotted sprays on it - I wanted the person looking in the mirror to be able to tell that they are looking at their image, but not take center stage.
I used almost all of the metal pieces I had in my stash for this, along with different lace and cheesecloth.
I used my Silhouette Portrait with the purple sketch pen in Lucida Sans handwriting to sketch "Made in his image and likeness", then I painted in the lettering with a paintbrush and a purple distress ink. I sealed the inks on pretty well with some Krylon Fixative.
I would like to give credit to two sources.
1) Gabrielle Pollacco's blog with her awesome canvas tutorials (hopefully one day I can afford all the different inks she uses lol): http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/2014/05/mixed-media-video-tutorial-dusty-attic.html?m=1
2) The design is based off of this link which also has a tutorial: http://cardsanddreams.blogspot.com/2013/12/more-mixed-media-calendars-and-video.html?m=1
