In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. Three were tap dances, two of which were for Advanced Tap, and this is her portrait for one of those. Her class danced to Midnight Man by Renee Olstead. She's 15 here.

I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots from the dress rehearsals. You can see my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. All the professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.

This was the first year she had the same costume for two dances. For Take the A Train, I used a subway/New York theme and had neon green in the LOs as well because the girls in Cassie's class danced with the older girls in the next class level up, who wore this same costume but with green accents. For this one, I stuck with pink because the dance was performed by only the four girls in Cassie's class, and they all wore the pink ties and hats. I used a star theme to go with Midnight Man.

This is my example for my February Four Categories Challenge - Category Two ~ Color: Pink. For the punching twist, I punched the pattern in the top of the horizontal pink strip near the bottom, and I punched the smaller size stars.

This is for the February Music Challenge - Lyric. The title is also part of the lyrics of the song. I have the pink and gray twist, if you consider silver to count as a shade of gray.

The scalloped square is an 8x8 die cut paper that I put hot pink cs behind to show through the holes. The white and black vertical strips are glittered cs. The ribbon is a scrap I had from off a gift bag. I cut the bottom to a point like a tie to echo the one on the costume. The strand of sequins across the bottom matches the ones in the stripes of the costume. (It looks crooked here, but I fixed it after I noticed it in the photo.) The larger sized stars are iridescent acetate that I got a long time ago in a package from Swarovski. I punched the smaller size ones from silver glitter paper. I also added loose sequins from the same strand as along the bottom, and some old Class-a-peel iridescent circle stickers. The class level is hard to see in this photo - I used white glitter stickers on the white cs near the bottom.
