Poor little guy! It is so hard to see such a little one have to suffer:( I'm glad his surgery was successful and at least there is a little comfort in knowing that because he is so young, he won't have much of a memory of such a tough time.
I'm thankful to hear he is doing great,
Will be saying a prayer for him and for you:)
Nice that you can share this with him in the future:)
Blessings * Robin:)
This is my darling grandson. He was born with a deformation in the folds of skin above his vocal chords. He was not getting enough oxygen, because those flaps would cover his breathing tube, so he wasn't eating or growing properly. At around 4 months old, the doctors figured out what was wrong and with some pushing, sheduled surgery for my grandson fairly quickly. These photos are of him in the hospital before and after his surgery - which worked! He is now growing like a weed. We found out that he now - at 8 months - needs another surgery because he has sleep apnea, which may be linked to those darned flaps. They may need to be cut a bit more. So I figured I'd better scrap the first one, so I could then scrap the second one.
