In August of last year we decided to enroll DD in Dance class. They quickly informed us she would need a leotard (ok), ballet slippers (ok), and tap shoes (what what?!?!)! OK please tell me how you plan to get my almost 3 year old to tap? And have you seen the price of new tap shoes (of course I could not find any second hand now that her class is about to start this week)? This seems like a giant gimmick. But like any good mommy I buckled under the social pressure of wanting to see her in dance class and bought her the expensive little tap shoes. We tried it all on together to make sure everything fit....she was sooo excited!! Can you tell? I just had to snap a photo. Now 7 months later she is still in dance class. #1 I am proud of her because she hasn't given up. #2 it has shaped a new part of her personality. She NEVER shows me what they are working on in class. For a while I started to assume they did nothing, but run around and goofed off.

But then in December all the parents were invited to sit in on her class. Wholey Moley she loves it!! And she is actually really good! I am shocked. Plus she seems to LOVE to perform (for other people)...go figure! She is such an ocean of depth...I wonder if I will ever know everything about her. I only took video of her that day. But in May when she has her recital I will take pictures while daddy records video. I doubt this will be a life long pursuit, but I am glad she is enjoying it.
