Most of the license plates are from St. Helena but some of the 2,500-3,000 residents order their license plates directly from Great Britain so there is a mix of St. Helena and Great Britain license plates on the cars.

Our next stop was the Plantation House. It was built in 1792 as the country residence of the Governor of the East India Company. Today the Plantation House is the home of the Governor of St. Helena. They do not have a local Governor, the Governor is appointed and sent to them from the United Kingdom.

I asked Anthony what the local cemeteries were like since they can be so different from one country to the next. He drove us to the little Anglican church where his family attends and it was surrounded a little country cemetery. We even got to go inside!
