I made this card so that my hubby could receive a mailed fathers day card. As we don't have human children, I decided to customize a card for him from our fur babies! I altered a boy stamp from The Greeting Farm's "OA Special Delivery" stamp set, masking off the letter he was carrying and his high top sneakers before inking up the stamp, then removing the masks before stamping. I then doodled in a golf club (my hubby's favorite sport), a collar onto the T-shirt to make it look more like a golf shirt, and paper pieced a doodled pair of pants onto plaid paper to create loud golfer pants. LOL
For our pups (who we nicknamed Princess Biscotti and Principe El Bandito), I used a stamp from the Penny Black "Tiny Treats" stamp set for our Bandito and doodled a mini poodle to match.
I Copic colored the little boy and water colored the little dogs (for a softer look) with Tim Holtz Distress Markers and a water brush.
For the layers of color and pattern on the lower half of the card, I used scraps from my paper scrap box to match the colors I used to color up the boy. I hand cut fringe onto some of the plain colored card stock to add extra interest and texture. The row of golf carts is from The Greeting Farm "I Love Dad" stamp set. I used clear embossing powder to heat emboss this image just add a nuance of color and texture (I didn't want to detract from the main image but wanted to continue with the golf theme). I left the top half of the card simple with just the plain kraft card stock base. I flipped the main focal image in the June Card Maps Challenge to the top half of the card from the bottom.
My husband was so surprised to receive this card, and he said it made his day. :)
