This is of my son as a baby. In our culture, a baby's hair is shaved before the first year ends. Symbolically, ITs like we are giving away the hair to God. For that we have to go to the place of our Family Deity, take a room in a hotel and we just tell someone that we need a barber to come and shave the hair. Earlier times, the hair was offered in the temple but nowadays nobody takes the hair and instead take a cash donation. my son was just 4 months when we did it. There are bound to be some small scrapes but we add sandalwood on the head to heal and also cool the baby.
