Oh man, this is absolutely going straight to my faves! I love the library and I am thrilled to say that even to this day, my 27 year ds still loves the library, too. We used to make weekly trips and he would never fail to remind me that 'Library Day' was here. Love this!
ahhh, yes, books, books, and more books! Love your layout and especially the fact that you bring out the fact that libraries are a great place to go! Beautifully done.
The library is our favorite place to go! There's nowhere else you can get such quality entertainment and education...for free! So many people don't realize you can get movies, audiobooks, and Kindle e-books, not just a vast array of traditional books. Plus, libraries often do fun things to get the community involved. For instance, our library has events for kids, like story time little play events, while adults can come together once a week for a movie night. Our library also has a seed exchange, so if you want to start a garden you just get seeds from the library instead of spending a ton of money on seeds at a big store. There's also a coupon exchange...and I bet there's stuff I haven't even discovered yet. Sorry to hijack your comments section, but I totally agree with you and I'm excited when people share their library love! :) Carrie
This is beautiful and I totally agree about library books. I love them! I teach children who are just learning English and many of them have no reading material in English in their homes because their parents don't speak English. How I have loved helping them find library books! I love your library pocket and card. Those photos warm my heart. Beautifully done.
I love how you created the book shelf with this paper. Two of my grand kids love to read and I have never taken pictures of them at the library!! I can't afford to keep them in books although my DGD reads her series over and over. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love love love this! Love reading, and so fortunate that my son's 14 and 2 also love books and reading! You might wonder how can my 2 year old be reading...well i don't suppose his really reading but since he was about 5 months old (anything that has writing on fascinates him!) Not a day goes by that he doesn't have a book or magazine in front of him, so i'm sure that once he does actually start reading he will be like me and my eldest son...you have to DRAG us away from our books to get anything done! Lol! Who wants to cook, clean and do washing if you can read or scrap?! Well unfortunately the chores have to be done too, and it does make reading and scrapping worthwhile in the end!
Super duper cute, Blondie!! LOVE the mix of layering and embellishing you did here and so very true! I swear you and I are like soul sisters! I have been a card-carrying member of at least one library system since I was 8 years old on my first school trip to the public library! Now I hold both a county and city card in Los Angeles and have been taking my son (and DD now) every 3-4 weeks to refresh our books! You're so 100% correct that we are lucky to live in a country that offers and encourages book reading like this! I LOVE the online options as I can download to my Kindle or iPhone and the App makes it super easy to check out, renew and request books. Having said that... I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT of using the digital element to LISTEN to books while I'm scrapping!! DUH!!!! I feel like I just got hit in the head with the HELLO MCFLY stick!! LMAO! Darling fun page you created here!!!
How awesome - beautiful layout! I love that you use the library. I used to love our librarian when I was little. She was Mrs. Altman and she had wonderful reading story times. It was awesome! I always hear how libraries aren't being used and are dwindling - does my heart good to see that they are indeed being used and enjoyed!
Aren't we? Not only do we live in a country where we are provided free education, but we all have access to millions of books. Its probably my favorite part of living in Orange County....our library system rocks. Not only are there tons of mooks for children, but I even have access to free digital books that I can download to my phone and listen to at my convenience....like while scrapping! What a lucky girl I am in deed.
This picture was taken the night before Thanksgiving last year. I knew my in-laws were going to come over the night before....I didn't know they planned to stay for most of the week. I also didn't know that my niece and nephew were also going to stay with us for a few days as well. I had planned to host the holiday, but wasn't sure how to host them for several days (especially my cleaning, shopping, and dinner prepping days). Oh well, join the madness! This picture is the cousins reading bedtime stories to DD (our normal nightly ritual). Yes DD has lots of books, but as her mind grows it is difficult to keep up with demand...plus books are so expensive. Thank goodness for the Library! A new adventure every night.
