What a gorgeous card Elizabeth! Love your use of these pprs~ & I always like to hear how you 'repurposed' something! (the strapping from Lowe's!!) Soo cool. Great stitch stamping; I think it adds warmth~
The design of this really caught my eye in the gallery. I love every detail. How brilliant to have repurposed strapping to add texture to your card! It looks perfect! I'm so impressed!
You are amazing in the things you use and the textures you have. Love the little lock and key and love the soft pictures of the birds. This is a wonderful card. the Tim Holtz paper is always such a great touch for a masculine card. Nicely done.
I have really been in the card making mood! This one is for the firstborn of my nephews and nieces. He is 10 years younger than me and I had the privilege of seeing him and his family in California this summer for the first time since my mom passed away five years ago.
This card is another inspiration from our friend Marylou using TH masculine papers, although they can be used for a lady as well! I think it just depends on your background color choices. The metal piece I've had in my stash for awhile and can't recall where I got it. The keyhole is Fairy Tale from Hobby Lobby and the metal key is an old Martha Stewart sticker. The envelope was made from Hot Off The Press Steampunk Paper Pack.
Now, "Happy Birthday" is stamped onto some package strapping that was wrapped around a box that held a big 24" shop fan that my son, Sam, bought from Lowe's! I thought the texture was so cool so I cut a long piece off of it. I rubbed TH Pumice Stone on it and then stamped the phrase with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. I was thrilled how well it worked!
