Let me take you down, cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever

I loved the stop at Strawberry Field where we all got off the bus to take pictures. Not at all what I expected but still, very special to see the place the Beatles were referring to when they sang “Strawberry Fields Forever”.

Strawberry Field was actually a children's home which became immortalized in February, 1967 with the release of the Beatles single “Strawberry Fields Forever”. The impressive original gateway to the old Victorian mansion still remains. I was surprised that the gate was red!

Penny Lane, the barber shaves another customer
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim
And the fireman rushes in from the pouring rain
Very strange

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit and meanwhile back

In this photo Tammy and I are standing in the middle of the street and you can see Penny Lane running behind us.

Penny Lane was an interesting stop. Bill and I posed by the sign that said, “Penny Lane”. In the song it mentions the barber and several other business and it was very cool to see that these places actually are real. The barber shop mentioned is still a barber shop but is no longer owned by the barber referred to in the song.
