Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 – Patrick had to go into work for a little while this morning so after he left, Tamara took us for a final sightseeing trip around Haarlem.
We were surprised to see a wedding ceremony going on near the top of one of the windmills. Then the couple stepped out on the balcony of the windmill for their wedding pictures. We could only see the back of the bride and groom but it was a treat anyway and we got one decent picture of the back of the couple. Tamara said a lot of couples get married in the room at the top of the windmill tower.
We also stopped in a gift shop and Bill bought me a pretty necklace with a windmill on it. I loved the blue patterned bag with the windmills so I scanned it when I got home. (It is the paper I used in the Holland layouts at the bottom of each page.) When we got home about an hour later, Patrick was waiting to take us to Amsterdam to board the Veendam. Then we said good-bye to Tamara, and after big hugs, we were on our way.
