Oh man! Boston is my favorite city to visit! I know what you mean about DD! The first time we were there, I was amazed at how many there were. It wasn't until we exited one of the trains and we were standing directly in front of one in the tunnel that I realized how serious they are about their donuts!! Boston is amazing!!!
Dang...I need that background paper!!! Where did you get it? As far as your layout, you picked such complementary papers for the city. It makes that great diecut just stand out. I am always hungry for "American" food when I come back too. It is usually something like Joe's Crabstack or Bubba Gump's!
The photo is amazing, with the backdrop of skyscrapers the old court house still has a majestic stately look!! I like the architectural work much better than the modern buildings behind it. Just as amazing that you have a red light that allowed you time for a quick photo.
The "Entering Boston" sign is a post card that I made into a png or transparency. its not a real sign that we saw.
Here's the Journaling:
Saturday, August 16th, 2014 – Back in Boston again! I've wanted to go back to Boston for a long time so I was really excited about this port, even though it meant the cruise was over! In summer, 1970, we went to Boston with Bill's brother Karl and Karl's girlfriend (later his wife), Barbara and the 4 of us spent several days with Bill's grandmother.
This morning we spent a couple hours in the cruise ship terminal while I checked email and Faceback to give Bill a chance to get on his computer and find a rental car and hotel room for us. Then we were on our way!
I noticed a Dunkin' Donuts, and another 2 blocks away and then another. I started counting them – I counted 24 Dunkin' Donuts in no time at all compared to 4 Starbucks and 2 McDonalds. I may have counted some of the Dunkin' Donuts more than once since we backtracked a bit but still, everywhere we looked – another Dunkin' Donuts! After being out of the country for several months, I was very hungry for a Bismark, my favorite Dunkin' Donut – comparable to a Krispy Kreme doughnut with the white cream inside and chocolate on top. I was very sad to lean that the Bismark's were only a short-termed promotional item and no longer available.
When we passed the Old State House there was a red light so I was able to jump out and snap a picture.
