My grandmother and her younger sister when they were about 14 and 12, or possibly 15 and 13. I can date their ages due to both having their hair down. I have another where one's hair is up and the other's is down and my mother explained to me long ago that it was the custom in those days for a girl to wear her hair up when she reached the age of 16. They are very pretty girls, aren't they? I've always found it amazing that the young men around them didn't recognize that. One never married and the other had an arranged marriage at age 38!
I found the Websters Pages Country Estate Vellum a perfect page to showcase this photograph. It is semi-translucent so I was able to use another paper underneath for added texture.
