TADA!!! I had NO idea what trunk-or-treat even was when I volunteered to do it at DS's preschool. Thanks to Pinterest and a really last minute lightening bolt, I managed to NAIL it!
DS was going to be a fireman this year so I thought we'd keep that theme going. I just couldn't visualize it. Lightening finally struck Friday morning and I scribbled a rough sketch down using display boards, construction paper, boxes and an empty gift wrap roll. I then raided my work's empty box supplies and found two large flat boxes that would work perfectly for the 'display boards', plus a couple boxes for 'buildings'. Picked up DS from school and we went shopping for supplies at the dollar store - red and black tablecloths, masking tape, squirt bottles, Christmas ribbon, black electrical tape and shiny metallic tissue paper. Then on to the craft store for poster board and construction paper. We picked up a pizza and then made an evening of creating our fire station. He was so excited and I have a sinking feeling I'm not going to be allowed to throw away these things anytime soon...
