Another mixed media art journal page here and this one is a "cartoon" I guess you could say. I used all the usual suspects: stencils, stamps, acrylics, pastes, bling gems, gel pens, paint pens etc. I love the texture this spread has--so bumpy! Inka Gold in gold and blues really hit the highlights of the texture and some gems on her crown catch the light.

However, I must say that the best part for me was figuring out how to print my title right on to TISSUE PAPER-- Thanks to Pinterest & Youtube. Get this, I have an INKJET too (gulp!) I didnt know how it would turn out but now IM SOLD on this particular method. Those of you who are font junkies will appreciate this one, I think. After it came out and dried some, I spritzed on some spray fixative and wahlah! (HINT= dont try and cut out each word to closely...paper is soooo fragile that once it goes down onto the page, if you dont nail placement the 1st time --Rrrrriiiip! EEP!) Even though there was a small snafu I have to say this is now a FAVORITE technique. *(font is called Harlequin.)

Its true, she's not some beauty that some drawings have, but cartoons can sure be freeing! NO RULES with them... crazy eyes, big lips, funky shaped faces. Sky's the limit. I may even tackle another some day. Well, thanks for takin a look. Blessings from the Great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Washington!
