Tuesday, December 16th, 2014 Bill and I don't don't do "early" very well anymore - since we retired, the word "early" has just kind of slipped form our vocabulary. However, this morning we got to rediscover what it is like to be up and out of the house before the sun had even thought about making an appearance.
In darkness we drove to Orlando so we would be there 2 hours before our 8:15AM flight. What we were thinking? Up at 4:00 - out the door by 4:15!
We planned this trip last-minute and it was going to be nice to sneak in one more vacation before Santa arrived. No matter where we travel, my only demand is that we be home on Christmas morning.
Since we didn't sleep much last night, we were looking forward to sleeping on the plane and first class seats were just what we needed! I prefer to fly on military planes, but if we have to fly commercial, first class is really a treat!
We will stay in Cancun for a couple days so Bill can see his dentist for follow-up work.
On Thursday we are going to catch a ferry to Isla Mujeres where we will stay until we return to Florida on Christmas eve.
Bill is really looking forward to seeing his friends, Marc and Judith Harrelson. Marc was one of his cadets when he taught ROTC and he became friends with both Marc and Judith.
They are renting a 5 bedroom home on Isla Mujares for their family and invited us to join them!
