Journaling: What can i say? There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to do this place justice. And the pictures pale in comparison to being there in person. It was a day well spent touring the grounds and seeing all of the wonderful flowers, plants, trees, fountains and spectacles. It's touted as one of the top five gardens in the world. I would have to say that the sunken garden was my favorite area. The colors there were spectacular! It was really delightful to turn the corner only to find another great view. One of my more memorable excursions to be sure.
I, of course, snapped hundreds of pictures of the flowers, however, i've only included a few here as i could fill a book with them. At dinner that night, our waitress happened to be a part time worker at the gardens and she told us some background about it- including the fact that once a plant starts wilting, it is immediately replaced with a new one from their greenhouses. Also, the plant configuration is constantly changing with the changes in season and plant availability.
