I came by to say thank you & saw this gorgeous card...I must be slipping as I missed these last few although I check out gallery additions all the time! Your work is truly amazing....creative with unending ideas rolling around it that beautiful mind! Every little detail is always so perfect!
Well, I asked, and I certainly received!!!! This card is gorgeous...when I took it out of it's envelope, it took my breath away! I LOVE vintage! All the amazing details; the layering, the distressing, the stunning photo, the lace, the papers....whew...it is truly gorgeous. I have it hanging on my birdcage with all my 'special' cards and tags. If I ever figure out how to get pics off my camera and onto my new laptop I will definitely post a pic. Again, thank you Marylou, this happy mail is a treasure!!!
Didn't have time to comment when I voted, but this is beautiful - both the card(s) and gesture! From the colors, distressing and vintage photo, every detail is gorgeous and she will surely love this! Love, love the story behind this.. You all had to have brought so much sunshine and delight to this woman's life. Well...she's got mail!!
This is like the most enormous card ministry of a life time! God gave you this ministry and look where it took you. This is truly beautiful Marylou, none of us know if we may be in the same situation at some point in our life. To be all alone like that is horrible, but you followed through with the challenge, God bless you and your family.
Oh Marylou! That is just beautiful!! That lace goes perfect with the vintage photo!! So glad you could put it to use!! Lovely embellies and pretty image!! And what a sweet story behind making it. That is so wonderful that so many people cared enough to send that lady cards.
Wow...God makes life worth while. Sending out the word of cards and delivering them is the perfect way to make a person feel happy and hopeful thru a difficult day. I know what it feels like to lay in the hospital for days and not a visitor, call, card or a flower to brighten my day
Marylou, you have such a kind heart! I'm sure that Linny was absolutely thrilled that you took her up on her offer. Your creativity and artistry always impress me. Stunning work of art!
Very nice! You did such a wonderful thing by reaching out to someone you dont even know. At 87 Im sure she could relate to this pretty card with the old image, lace and jewelry :o)Ro
Beautiful!! Wonderful heartwarming story about the cards. So very sry to hear about Karen's daughter. :( Had no idea. I was wondering when I got back where she was.
First of all, I need to tell you the story behind this card. Some of us in our Pocket Letter Swap sent cards to an 87 year old woman recovering from a knee replacement. Everyday she would ask her caregiver if she got any mail? The answer was always "no". It was posted on facebook & that is when Glenda told us about it. As of a week ago she has received over 500 cards!! WOOHOO! Aren't people wonderful!
Anyway Linny commented on a post that she was an old lady and would love to receive a card. I took her up on it & this is the card I created for her. See if you just ask & you shall receive, most of the time anyway!:))
The bg paper is Ruby-Rock-It/Faded Empire from the Artsy store in Loveland CO. The image is Pion Design. The jewel is HL, resin bird from Karen (Roosterhead) whom I miss terribly on here, but we do keep in touch. She is doing better since her daughter passed away, but no desire to craft. The beautiful lace is from Elzabeth, thank you GF! The ribbon was inked, spritzed & scrunched. TFL & I so appreciate you sweet lovelies out there. Blessings~Marylou
