I love all these bird shots - look at the owls - just love them! Many many many years ago (early 70's) I got to go with a group who were licensed to keep birds of prey for rehab and we got to go with them to fly and exercise them. One of the scariest feelings in the world is to be standing with a leather thing on your arm and a huge red-tailed hawk coming flying at you - talons out, to land on your arm. Every Saturday and Sunday the birds were taken out to a big field near the mountains in California to hunt for mice and other live food as part of the rehab process. I love the way you used the chain in the borders - love the way that looks!

After LaPine State Park, we headed to the town of Sunriver. It was so crowded when we got there, They didn't have one athletic competition, they have four!!! We left the town with all the bicyclists and marathon runners to the Nature Center. It was kind of a disappointment except for the birdies. We saw some really cool raptors, house finch and a family of trumpeter swans. I also saw my very first Belding ground squirrel (and yes, he has creepy little hands too. Private joke.)
