DH, SIL, and I escaped to Shevlin Park and hiked the Tumalo Creek Trail. I had heard there was a covered bridge on the trail. Along the way, we saw Indian paintbrush, western columbine, a whole grove of larch and even a Lewis's woodpecker! Larch are unique. They drop their needles every winter. DH assured me there were lots of fishes in the creek. He loves to fish but alas, no pole.
