This is an old photo that I took while in OKC several years ago. I had purchased this doodle template and was unsure at the time what to do with it. So, I decided to use it on this layout and journal my thoughts about the OKC Bombing and the emotions I had while visiting the memorial for the first time~ On 19 April 1995 I was sitting at Chili's in McKinney waiting for my "new" car to be fixed and watching the news when the announced the bombing. My heart sunk when I heard the news. At that time that sorta stuff just didn't have here, or so I thought. I didn't know anyone there but it still made my heart sink for those affected. Little did I know that years later, my youngest son would be enlisting in the Army to fight people like those who did this unspeakable act. Little did I know that my son would be sworn in and leaving from the "new" building that had replaced the building that had been destroyed. Little did I realize that other families where probably going to the federal building to see their sons, daughters, husbands and wives off to join the military because MEPS is located inside the federal building. Little did I know that my sister in law would be one of the people who worked and led a team that day assisting all those affected. It's funny how events like this affect your life in ways that you do not know, even if it is years after it happens. To all those who lost their lives, family or friends that horrible day.... Please know that you are not forgotten!!!!
