Journaling: So, Dan and I had been in the planning stage for going to Washington for some time, and we have been big C & W dancers for some time, so Dan researched clubs nearby for dancing. He even called and asked what kind of dancing the did there- mostly line dancing, or progressive dancing. He found that our best bet was Bushwhackers in nearby Tualitan, Oregon. We totally asked for the family's indulgence on this one, as no one else was immersed in this dance culture. Dan's girls, Darrell and Frank, and Dave indulged us and joined us at the club. We had a great time- even if Dan and I scoffed at the dance lessons. They have a different idea of dancing there! As you cans see, Darrell, Frank, and I even joined in the line dancing ( Frank is hidden behind the tall dude!). Dan and I went back a couple of times, even meeting some of Dan's friend there- Paul and Johanna. It wasn't like home, but it was close. One aspect that we liked, that's not done in Texas, is that at 9 o'clock, they salute the American Flag. We can never do enough of that! :)
