This is my lo for the ROUND ROBIN - FEBRUARY Challenge - Team 2 Week 1.

We were given the sketch found here to lift: https://scrapysketches.blogspot.com/2013/05/mid-week-sketch-21-13.html

I saw the lines on the sketch as being twine, so I did this snowday lo and used the lines to give the impression of falling snow. I used snowflake brads to secure the odd intersections of the lines/twine. I added pink pearls to the snowflakes to carry over the pink from the photo matting.

I used a really old photo frame (pink knitted looking) as the main background for my photo. I double matted it onto black and white. Instead of using it as a frame, I used it as a mat for the picture. I matted the picture with black, then some of the background pp, then I placed the matted photo over the hole in the frame and adhered it in place. The frame had small buttons (part of the frame picture), but I wanted bigger buttons and the dimension of the real things instead of just the photo of them, so I added white buttons to the corners of the picture, covered the photo-ed ones on the frame, and stitched them on with pink thread to match the knitted 'fabric'.

I like the swoosh of flowers on the sketch, but after I added the definition sticker, I couldn't figure out how to make it work on my lo, so I added the flowers in a places I thought would enhance me lo...creating a bit of a triangle to bring focus to the photo and the journaling. I matted the photos onto little doily looking things that I tore off of some paper flowers I had...yep, I ruined those flowers, but I NEEDED those little doilies...doilies remind me of snowflakes and my flowers weren't really the size I needed, so the doilies helped make them seem a bit bigger....IMO.
