This light house weathered several hurricanes and was rebuilt until 1944 when it was damaged severely. Its use was discontinued and the Coast Guard sold the structure. It became a private residence and then in 1978 it was moved to Port Lavaca to the Convention/Visitor center where it greeted us as we came into town.
