There is nothing I am not absolutely in love with on this layout, Elizabeth! I love how the "quilt" goes with your skirt! What a great way to commemorate this memory! Your techniques are beautiful and I just love that patterned paper peeking out!
This is fantastic! I love the way your skirt looks in the fun photo with the strips of paper you put on the page! And this was a great way to use up scraps from you stash!
Beautiful you, handmade embells and design. Lovely outfit sewn by you too. (I used to do a lot of sewing but have only a couple of pics of my handiwork. Wonderful pic.)
What a fabulous layout!!!! Love the way you designed this wonderful creation!!!! I wish I had a pic like this of my first car! It was such a box! Looked like a 4 year old's drawing of a car - but I loved that car. It had no add ones at all, just a blue box with wheels! But it ran better than any car I've had, even if it was 12 years old when I got it! Thanks for the trip down memory lane - I haven't thought about that car in years!!
Love your background strips and the beautiful flowers and leaves. I love the inking on the background. Everything works together to make this an amazing work of art. We had a 72 Chevy Impala that we also called "the boat". Those were huge cars! Great job.
This is stunning! Love the design with the slanted strips with the diamond shapes, the cheesecloth and doily, the altered Thicker alphas...I love it all!
Oh wow what a great car and an amazing skirt . I didn't have one like that but did have one made of hunting scene curtain fabric. Lol what a fabulous car my son would have adored it he was right into
The big cars and had a few of them. You've scrapped the photo beautifully ,love the design ,flowers (especially the lace one) .
OMGoodness the flashbacks...lol The car the skirt and lacy blouse. (They are beautiful!) Love love this page!! The patch work strips are fabulous! And they do match your skirt. Love the colors and all the details!!!
Well my friend, I do believe most cars in the 70's were "tuna boats"! lol Classic cars, had some style back then! I remember those good ole days! What a wonderful lo & love how you did the strips of papers & clusters of flowers. I like how you added the doily & cheese cloth behind your great photo! Wonderful skirt by the way!:)
Oh my goodness I'm speechless. And get this. I'm thinking about doing a weave project just this morning because I was looking at scraps last night and it made me think of it. This is truly amazing how you found just the right papers for this photo. So creative, instant fave.
Well, I finally got a layout made in February! I finally broke down and sorted through my huge box of pictures last weekend and this was a picture I was hoping to find! It was me in my patchwork skirt and blouse that I made and was taken around 1976-77. My car was a 1972 Dodge Monaco that was affectionately known as "the tuna boat"!
Part of my layout is inspired by Marilyn Rivera's "My Little Sweetheart" layout that she made last year. She had slanted strips with diamond shaped patches and I thought it would look great with my patchwork skirt. It was not an easy task and I'm sure my strips are skinnier! Anyway, I am happy with the end result. Most of them were made from scraps I've had in my stash.
On the title I used AC's Burlap Thickers and didn't really care for the burlap with this so I used my Liquid Pearls to cover the letters.
The lace flower is one I made using white lace sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Barn Red. The pretty white leather like flowers, little white doilies and sequined piece at the top left are from Marylou (Meggie's Nana). The flowers in the upper left corner are from Mary (Abbygirl). Thank you so much my dear friends! Beautiful butterflies are Reneabouquets. The pearl and rhinestone flowers are from Pam Wright's Boutique on Facebook. The beautiful golden raspberry glitter glass was from Gone Artsy.
Any questions you have, just holler, and thank you for visiting my gallery! I tried to upload several close-ups from different angles but our internet service wasn't having any of it, so sorry about that!
