Love this, I have some old photos that would be great for a LO like this. I love the twine flower! Upon opening the Scrapbooking.com site this morning, this is the first thing that caught my eye and this day happens to be the 3rd anniversary of my Fathers passing. Seems like a sign to me.
this is stupendous Katie :) i love the papers, sketch, flower, star, title.. such a beautiful family..you showed the love you had for them by this story & page
You chose the perfect paper and scrapped this beautifully. I love every inch of this layout. I would love to know the name of the cut font on Grandparents and Cousins. Pinned!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those pictures!! What a treasure to have them! You did a great job on that layout too and thank you for the love on my Little One layout!
Amazing creativity you had on this page. I think this one is one of your all time best. It is beautiful, you achieved the vintage look perfectly and the photos speak volumes. The little bakers twine flower is really cool. It will be a family treasure for many generations.
What a wonderful look at your history! Beautiful layout. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE photos and old photos are soo special because there were so few taken back in those days and so few of those photos that survive the years :o)Ro
I glad you got into that 5 year old package of Simple Stories. It was perfect for this layout. I absolutely love this page. I love all the bits and pieces you have and the papers with the words are fabulous!
This is a LO that I created with a few photos my family and I have found recently of my deceased father and his maternal grandparents and cousins. We knew exactly which of these kids he was because my oldest brother looked just like him as a child. My dad is the one in the white shirt with the newsboy hat in the group photo and without the hat and the bibs in the bottom photo. I can pinpoint the year date by the age of the baby of course. This photo is missing the oldest grandson (my dad's older brother) because he had passed away as a toddler and my uncle (my dad's youngest brother) because he hadn't been born yet. The little girl and the the little boy in the jacket and the hat (not the baby) are also my dad's siblings. Sadly, everyone pictured here isn't alive any longer. Of course, the photos are about 90 years old.
The LO was inspired by this sketch (with some major changes obviously): http://sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/2014/01/sketch-112-12x12.html The twine flower tutorial can be found in a link that provided here:
This is entered in the March Hoarder's Challenge: I finally broke into my Simple Stories Documented Collection and used some for this. It was really hard for me to do, but I am feeling good about the results. It was 5 years old. The Making Memories journaling block also has to be from around that time.
It is also entered in the March 5 Ingredients Plus Yours Challenge. 1. It includes a star in the form of a brad in the top right corner. 2. It includes twine. I made my very first twine flower for this. 3. There is a number.... in this case the date under part of the title and just left of the worded column. 4. It has a solid cardstock background. 5. It has 2 photos (so meets the 1-2 photo requirement as well).
This is also entered in the March Use Your Stamps Challenge (the date was stamped with the numbers from Cindy Echtinaw Designs Special Sentiments set) and the March VLB Challenge as well. I cut the title with a font called Engagement on my Silhouette.
