What a great way to make a background. At first I thought the butterfly was just the black part...should have known there would be vellum!! cute cute cute!!
This is gorgeous! Your stripes are so perfect that they look like designer paper. Love the variety in the width of them. The drama that the black sentiment and butterfly adds is so pretty. I love the use of the vellum behind the butterfly. I have never thought to do that. Love those tiny little butterflies leading the eye right to the sentiment. I love the black enamel dots too. This is so bright and cheery, it's sure to make someone feel loved and happy. Such beautiful colors together. I love this!
Gorgeous background, such a beautiful color combination. I knew this was your card by the amazing vellum butterflies. You are so innovative; love how you think. The enamel dots with the butterflies really add interest. You are always impressing with your creations. Keep those wheels turning.
Oh this is wonderful! All of those paper strips and are awesome and those velum butterflies are fabulous! I am going to check out the link you provided. I absolutely love this and right into my favs!
Stunning......you made this card unique by the way you put the stripes together. I would have never guessed this is not cardstock. I love butterflies so much and the black one, wow along with the little ones
Jennifer McGuire recently posted cards that she made using paper strips to create colorful striped backgrounds (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/04/rainbow.html). When I took a second look at sketch #1 in the April Card Sketch Challenge, the design, with its stripes, brought her technique to mind. I used some brightly colored cardstock scraps which I cut into strips of varying thicknesses. I covered a piece of white cardstock with tape runner adhesive and glued down my strips alternating colors and using the thicker white pieces to mimic parts of the sketch. The large butterfly is a die from Memory Box. I cut the detailed part out of black cardstock and the solid underlay out of vellum. I added black enamel accent dots and two smaller vellum butterflies.
Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement! It really means a lot!
