Hello All! This couple is one of my maternal GA and GU. They lived in Birmingham and Burney-Uncle Boots was a railroad conductor for L & N. It wasn't until recently that I learned why we called Lilly Belle, Lilly Bill or Aunt Bill. It was because she named herself that. She thought that the name Lilly Belle sounded like someone's milk cow! They married in 1914.
