Photos from our close encounter with buffalo on a motorcycle trip through Yellowstone. Journaling reads: If you run into stopped traffic in Yellowstone, it’s no ordinary traffic jam…you’re looking at a buffalo jam. When a herd of buffalo take to the road, they definitely have the right of way. It’s one thing to face these huge animals from inside a car; quite another to be on a motorcycle! We shut off the bikes, got behind them and just watched as all these huge animals came walking toward us. At first they were on both sides of the road, but they all merged onto one side which thankfully was opposite us. We knew buffalos were dangerous and were known to charge cars and people sometimes so we hoped we weren’t about to become buffalo casualties. We had no idea just how huge buffalo were until we saw these up close. Scary? Yes. But was it awesome? Definitely! Sept 3, 2016
