I did this page so I could tell a story. This was before we left on our vacation trip to Disney. It has been 3- actually 2 years (changed it in the journaling. since the RV had been out and well...it needed some TLC.

Old stash. Used a wine cork to add some stamping to the background.

Journaling: Well, can't believe we didn't think about all the humidity and moisture here in Florida and how it would impact the RV! Our excuse was that we were so used to the dryness of the high desert that it just wasn't on our radar. That and the fact that this move was the worst…besides being a bad decision (which is another story entirely) – that we just felt in limbo.

Of course in Nevada where the sun bakes the outside of the coach, we had a cover. What we didn't realize is that in Florida it kept moisture in and didn't let it out. We threw it away as it had rotted and didn't put another one on. After that we used Damp-Rids to get rid of the moisture and roach hotels to get rid of the roaches.

Anyway, Dennis found a good deal for Florida residents in the fall of 2015 at Disney's Fort Wilderness on line and we decided to go. It would be the first time the RV was taken on a trip since we moved 3 years ago. We were all excited and went over to go through it and make check lists. The first thing I had to do is take all the dishes and utensils back home and run them through the dishwasher. I also had to bring all the clothes back to wash. The dampness had gotten to all of it! It took a LOT longer than we expected to get the RV ready for this getaway! We were working on it every day for over a week! By the time we were ready to leave I was exhausted!

This was a good lesson for us though. After this Dennis went over to the RV once a week to check on it and run the A/C or heat –using the generators – to keep moisture out. I will also say that the Damp-Rids really do the job and we got rid of the roaches.
