This is my lo for the JUNE SCRAPLIFT THE PERSON BEFORE YOU Challenge. I found a gorgeous lo in Lyn's gallery - Family That's a Beautiful Thing By: JustLyn and it can be found here: https://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/151119/view/5817597/-1/0/0.html

I had a single picture of my boys with the ice cream truck and when I saw Lyn's lo, it seemed like the perfect way to make a special lo for that photo.

I started by finding the popsicle pp for the scalloped circles. (I was looking for ice cream pp, but when I saw the popsicle pp, I remembered that the kids always bought popsicle type treats when the ice cream truck came around). I used a punch to punch out a bazillion scalloped circles from the ppp, but then felt like it needed broken up a little bit, so I found some more solid color papers to mix in..and I had to include some dark ones as Lyn had done in hers. I matted my background blue pp onto some green pp, just to 'ground' it a little bit. I inked all the circles. Then I added all my scalloped circles to the bottom portion of the background. I ran a line of adhesive across the page, then added a row of circles to it, then added a line of adhesive above that row of circles, then added that row of circles and kept going until I had covered as much of the background as I wanted.

I was going to do larger circles above those smaller circles, as Lyn had done on hers, but then I had the idea that scoops of ice cream are kind of roundish and that might be fun to do for this page. Fortunate, I had an ice cream cone Sizzix die, so I didn't have to free-hand cut them all! I wasn't happy with my cream colored ice cream scoops, so I decided to use the solid colored I had used in the bottom of the page to create different colored scoops on top of vanilla scoops...or as it looks to me now, like sauces on an ice cream sundae..hmmm.... After I did that, I still wasn't thrilled with the look, so I decided they needed a cherry on top. I punched some red circles, used the white pen to add a highlight to each cherry and used some twine to make the stems.

For the border strip across the page, I found one I had that was cream colored and kind of drippy looking...like melting ice cream (at least in my mind LOL). I added some twine across it, held in place with epoxy brads. I used a teardrop shaped punch to punch some of the cream cs I had used for the ice cream and added even more ice cream drips to the page.

I added a flower, "leaf" sticker, and "spring" sticker. I added the "memories" sticker to the bottom of the page...just because and added a tiny paperclip.

I matted my photo on white, then cream, then the dark solid I had previously used. I added stickers for the title and some embellishing. I added twine to a chipboard popsicle and added some journaling to it. I saw some banner stickers I had and decided an ice cream truck lo really needed a bright and colorful banner...I added some chipboard pieces and the twine to finish off the banner.

Thanks to Lyn for allowing me to lift her beautiful lo!
