Hello Summer ~ Card

Because I am not really a card maker - although I'm learning and I WANT to be one - I don't have a lot of cards in my favorites folders. So when one of the topics for the inspirational card challenge was to lift a favorite card, I had to come up with a way to find one.

I went to the gallery, selected "this week" and looked at the cards on the first page of all of the "votes" buttons. There was one card that appeared on several of them. It was really a beautiful card, and I decided that it was the one that I wanted to "recreate" in my awkward newbie card creator style.

Here's the card I selected by Meggies Nana. Most of you card makers will probably recognize it right away...



I had fun with this project. I dug around in my stash, found some papers that I felt would work, dug a little more to pick out a couple of punches, did a little more digging for a sentiment to cobble together, and finally a last little big of digging to find some little bling gems and a touch of stickles. And this card is the final result. It's not as beautiful as my target lift, but it's done, and as anyone who knows me will tell you, I have frequently been heard to say, "done is better than perfect!"

This little card finishes me for June. I've completed all the challenges I signed up for! That's a first time ever!
