Interestingly enough, I've never seen The Shining but I've been to the Stanley Hotel (the location he based it on) and my first thought is that I have seen another hotel that looks a lot like this one. Now I'm wondering just how many of that era look must have this look. Really like what you've done with the title work and think the inclusion of the big key is great!
OK - You can't see it because the letters are metallic and it didn't come through too well on the photo, but at the bottom of the photo it says "My Stephen King Moment." Truly - when I turned the corner on the upstairs floor of the lodge, I REALLY DID stop and thought that! I just had to take the picture :-) What a great memory! LOL So for the title on this one I used a large cut out for the background and cut the letters out of the center - I then covered the back with gold leaf (what a mess! :-) and then inked the title letters and plugged them into their spaces, and then covered them with Glossy Accents to raise them up a bit. I used a huge key (which I have a few I've been holding on to forever), flowers and half of a flourish that I inked with distress ink so it wasn't so white. The flower is cut from my Cricut and inked with Distress Stain and I added one big pearl in the center.
