Awesome layout for something you hated. I realized for myself that memories of not loved things are still memories I want to tell sometimes. Love the blue with the silver doilies!
LOL, I remember when we had a silver tree one year, it was in the late 60's, can't remember the exact year but my mama said never again. Great job documenting this, love the bg paper, doilies and stars
LOL! We inherited a silver tree (with color wheels) for our first Christmas after our wedding. We actually used it for several years since we were poor college students. This is such a great page to remember those times long ago. I love it.
I remember those silver trees with the color wheels! My best friend's family had one. I thought it was pretty, but not very Chrismassy (we always had a real tree). Her parents made better money than mine did and they always had the latest and greatests and more fashionable and trendy. I did like it, but I liked our real trees better. Our Christmases were a lot more plain and simple than theirs. Theirs often meant tons of out-of-state relatives - ours was always just the 5 of us. You scrapped this so pretty - I love the blue and the silver together. Now those trees are worth a fortune. One of my friends went on an expedition to find one and I couldn't believe how much she paid for an old silver tree and color wheel.
Used some more (hoarded) HOTP - shiny paper in the corners, dazzles and ribbon. Photo corners -colored vellum and Dazzles.
I hated this tree - my brother thought it was just the coolest thing. I was a young teen and my brother was 11 years older. One pic with our 2 dogs in it - Butch (German Shepard) and Willie (Chihuahua).
For Inspired by a word - "sparkle" Hoarders
Journaling - I believe that this is 1964 - the 1st year of the Silver Tree with 2 color wheels. My brother, Guy, bought it - he thought it was so cool- I hated it! We put it up in the half basement that Guy had finished with a drop ceiling and dry wall and the bricks were painted blue. Speakers would be wired to the stereo in my bedroom and Guy would buy a couch with zebra print cushions the next year.
Christmas Day - 1964 the next year the silver tree went upstairs to the living room.
