I love when you walk into a less imposing outside into something that amazing inside. This happened to me in Paris at Sainte Chapelle - jaw dropping is a good word. I know the photos won't do this place justice but so amazing!
I just finish reading the Church and Knights pages, and so appreciate you taking the time to document this magnificent church. Its easy to see why its your favorite! You are one lucky lady to be able to travel the world to see such magnificent history such a visits had to overwhelming for the senses. Again, tfs, hope all is well with you Henri!
Can't wait to get to the inside pics! I love that I have already read the history of the church and can understand the rather plain somber outside and then to see the one pic of the inside next to it - wow!
If anyone ever asks me what is my favorite church I have ever seen anywhere in the world, this is the one.
This is my favorite. I like it better than St. Peters Basilica, better than the Seville Basilica, better than Salisbury or the one we visited in Germany.
I like it a lot better than the big one in Barcelona or even more than St. Marks in Venice or any of the beautiful basilicas and cathedrals around Europe and Even the gorgeous ones in Norway.
