This loosely follows Tim's 2012 April technique tag, but after the concept "bird on a branch" I went off in a whole 'nuther direction.

I had an idea for doing the Partridge but I could NOT find one anywhere, so I went to the image bank and looked at live birds and art drawings of birds and then fussed and figured and finally realized that my Stampin'Up bird punch would do the trick. And wow. Better than I even hoped.

Punched him out in three colors, did some snipping and stacking, and a little white signo pen here and some black sharpie pen there, add a little rock candy Stickles and ... well, just wow. I'm so very pleased.

The tree. Another kind of serendipity moment. I was digging through my Sizzix dies and the further down the stack I got, the more unhappy I was until I found this one ... it's #657241, and is simply titled "Branch w/Leaves & Flower. The branch made a beautiful little tree, and the flower had the perfect petals to cut into gorgeous little pears. Just amazing how lovely it worked!

And after that - the rest was easy. A little embossing in a folder, a bit of ink, a script stamp, and some spray. Wa-lah! A Partridge in a Pear Tree it is! And there's a label in case somebody can't figure it out. ;-)
